RNs and APRNs: YOU MUST RENEW NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 31, 2019 TO CONTINUE TO PRACTICE

211,925 licenses have been renewed – RNs and APRNs should not delay renewing!

If RNs and APRNs do not renew by October 31, 2019, your license will lapse, and you cannot work as nurses if your license has lapsed.

ATTENTION APRNs: You must renew BOTH your RN and APRN licenses. These are two separate applications and you must complete them both.

RNs and APRNs are encouraged to check the expiration date of your license at https://elicense.ohio.gov/oh_verifylicense. If it shows an expiration date of 10/31/19 it means you have not started to renew; you have not completed the renewal process; or you have not placed your license on inactive status.

To renew go to https://elicense.ohio.gov.

If RNs and APRNs do not intend to work as a nurse and do not want to renew, please place your license on “inactive” status. Click Here and select "License Inactivation" above.

For assistance, call 614-466-3947 and select “option 1” Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and check the Board website at www.nursing.ohio.gov for extended hours in late October. After hours, email nursing.registration@das.ohio.gov and include a brief description of the issue, first name, last name, telephone number, email address, and license number if you have it.

If additional Information is needed, please refer to the Board website at www.nursing.ohio.gov or contact the Board at renewal@nursing.ohio.gov.

State of Ohio eLicense System Transaction Fee

When passing the state’s budget bill on June 30, 2017, the Ohio legislature authorized by law a $3.50 transaction charge for all users of the state’s Ohio eLicense system.  It was a state initiative passed as part of the budget bill. The Ohio eLicense system is an enterprise system managed by the state for 19 boards and commissions. All professionals of the boards and commissions who use the Ohio eLicense are being charged the fee.

Beginning Thursday, July 20, 2017, after 6:00 pm, an Ohio eLicense transaction fee of $3.50 will be added to your online cart at the time of checkout when you apply for a license/certificate or renew.

Since APRN licensure is separate from the RN license by law, APRNs will be charged a $3.50 transaction fee for each license (RN and APRN).

Nursing licensure fees have not been increased since 2004. The Ohio eLicense system allows the state to process professional license applications saving time and money.

We appreciate your understanding of the costs associated with the state being able to maintain a secure Ohio eLicense system for license information.
